While most of my previous blogs have had some overarching theme tying everything together, this one just happens to be random thoughts.
I'm playing at a concert this upcoming Saturday, it'll be mostly jazz stuff, with some jazz/indian classical fusion (weird, I know). Anyhow, Mom said I could have 50 bucks to get myself some pretty rad concert attire, as opposed to the normal clothing I get from walmart/target/old navy/occaisionally grocery stores (don't judge me)/harker. So I headed to Nordstroms/Abercrombie/Macy's and realized that I have no idea what is considered fashionable or not....very depressing. Hopefully I can find a fashion-savvy person to go shopping with before Saturday...
A friend of mine in UC San Diego told me recently with great excitement that Maxim had released a new top 100 hot women list. Megan Fox was of course, in the top 20 (though she'll always be #1 in my heart...or parts of the body..). In a recent trip to Berkeley, I found out that there is a club for people who just look at hot actresses, and debate who's better looking. It made me wonder, with all these ridiculous/weird/crazy sounding clubs, what kind of people are members? How many of them are actually people like me, and how many of them are the crazed creeps that you hope never to run into in Berkeley?
According to my trainer in my gym, the distance around my biceps have increased by 3.5 centimeters! That's not saying too much, considering what the distance was before, but I'm choosing to stay positive, of course. Turns out, there are several more people from my chem class/english class/calculus class that attend the gym, so I have to start stepping up the workouts, despite how exhausting they already are, otherwise I might lose what little street cred I've managed to gain in the past 3 months.
My car's dying. On the outside, it looks new, beautiful, majestic..(but maybe that's just cause i'm so emotionally attached) but its nearing 200,000 miles, and big luxury cars usually start falling apart around then. With the recent torrents of rain the bay area has been experiencing, the roads have been slick, wet, and generally icky. I almost spun out 2 times last week, even though I was going well under the speed limit, and was barely turning; it was scary as hell. The car sometimes lurches between gear shifts, rarely enough so that I think I'm imagining it. Dad reprimanded me for jumping to spend money to fix up the car, even though the majority of the money (approx. 90.12% of it) was supplied by the insurance company. It seems the time has come to trade this car in as well. Luckily, the recent body work we've put into the car has raised its value to 9000 instead of a mere 3000....at least thats what Stevens Creek Lexus says. So it's that happy time of year, Christmas, and I get to pick out yet ANOTHER new car. It's bittersweet however, those of you who have your own cars know what I mean when i say: I love my car. I've dreamt about owning this car since the day we bought it, 11-ish years ago. It sucks that I had so little time to call it my own :(
